Our love story began on the 21st night of September back in 2022, when we went on our first date to Limani. Matt didn’t want to be late, so like any normal person he showed up to the restaurant 40 minutes early. He texted Jenna to let her know he was at the bar waiting, and when she read the message, she panicked because naturally, she was still at home texting her girlfriends pictures of outfit options. When Jenna finally arrived, the first thing Matt noticed was her beautiful smile. Jenna, on the other hand, was relieved to see that Matt was much taller in person than he appeared on his Hinge profile!

The date kicked off effortlessly, filled with laughter and easy conversation. As Jenna talked about her rigorous medical school exam prep, she joked and said, “Honestly, I couldn’t have picked a worse time in my life to start dating someone.” Matt couldn’t help but laugh—it didn’t scare him one bit. Then she proceeded to add “Oh, and for the record, my Italian mother always warned me to never date a guy whose last name ends in a vowel.” Without missing a beat, Matt tucked his gold chain under his shirt and turned on the charm even more.

Even though we both felt an undeniable connection, we left that first date thinking it might be too good to be true. It wasn’t until the third date that everything changed. We spent the day together at the library so Jenna could “study” for her exam. Admittedly, she didn’t get much studying done, and Matt ended up moving a few calls just to keep her company. But it was on that day that we realized something extraordinary—we were better together. Our lives just made more sense with each other in them.

Since then, our love has only grown stronger. We’ve shared countless unforgettable moments, from amazing vacations to rooting for the worst teams in sports, and created memories that will last a lifetime. One of the most exciting chapters has been the adoption of our 95-pound baby boy, Sonny. And of course, our engagement—on a snowy, 20-degree beach in Bayville, where we shared our most cherished memories and froze our way into a new chapter of life together.

Through all the highs and lows, we’ve stuck together, often joking that our relationship really did start during the “worst time of Jenna’s life”—though we now know it was really the best time of both of our lives. And Jenna could not be more excited to take on her new last name (that does in fact end in a vowel). We’ve laughed more than we ever thought possible and discovered that, even on the toughest days, we’re exactly where we’re meant to be.

We are beyond excited for what’s to come, especially the wedding day we’ve both dreamed of and worked toward.
